Charlie Crosse

Charlie concentrates his practice on creative problem solving, and uses his 33 + years of legal experience to bring a practical, cost effective and results oriented approach to legal and business problems. In the course of his legal career he has addressed a broad range of issues faced by individuals, businesses and financial institutions in a practice that has involved litigation, conflict resolution, public and private finance, risk management, insolvency, commercial transactions, trust, tax, ERISA, and labor matters. Charlie is active in all aspects of the firm’s personal injury practice, including litigation of catastrophic injury, wrongful death and insurance bad faith cases.

Charlie has been admitted to practice in Colorado and Wisconsin, and has handled client matters and litigation in California, Washington, Arizona, Texas, North Dakota, Michigan, Georgia and New York. He is the recipient of Martindale-Hubbell’s highest Peer Review Rating (“AV Preeminent”), receiving a 5.0 of 5.

Charlie began his legal career in 1980 as a litigator in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He became a partner in Michael Best and Friedrich, one of the largest law firms in Wisconsin. He moved to Colorado in 1996 and opened his own firm. Charlie was the previous principal owner of Crosse + Barfield LLC. Charlie grew up in rural Michigan, the son of an insurance agent and a homemaker. He put himself through college and law school selling life insurance, working on pipeline crews in the oil fields of Louisiana, and other jobs.

Charlie is married to Laura and has two children. Kate graduated from New York University, is married, and owns a clothing store in the lower East Village in New York City. Chas graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, is also married, and is employed with GE Capital.

Mike Lazar

Mike devotes his practice to helping individuals and businesses solve a wide variety problems. His specialties includes civil litigation and trial work in personal injury and commercial matters. Working as outside general counsel, Mike has helped businesses realize their short term and long term strategic goals, both by advising their owners and by utilizing his network of professional contacts to fulfill his clients’ needs. Mike has developed a particular specialty in representing businesses in the software and tech industry.

Mike also has had the privilege of representing and helping a wide variety of individuals who have been in hurt in accidents ranging from basic automobile collisions to complicated industrial crane collapses. In particular, Mike has had the opportunity of helping the victims of traumatic brain injuries tell their stories to juries, helping the juries understand how such an injury can dramatically alter one’s life.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys skiing, hiking, salsa dancing, golfing, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and son.
